Greed

by Davon Brantley

Starting at $500 per year

\"Greed\" is a piece by Davon Brantley, that was a part of a body of work for an exhibition titled \"Awaken in the Garden My Love\". In \"Awaken in the Garden My Love\" Brantley explored the connection between the seven deadly sins and human emotions/subconscious personifying them in the process. Drifting away from the demonization of the sins and wanting to humanize them as internal parts of ourselves that we should acknowledge and invest more time into understanding; Greed becomes personified in this piece but shown in a more protective and reserved light as he caresses a seemingly detrimental wound. Greed in this instance is shown as wanting to protect himself while he heals, giving the viewer a glare that reads \"stay back\" as he becomes more invested in the time he needs to himself. We are allowed to be a bit more \"greedy\" in protecting our space, time, energy and healing. This piece exemplifies a person in need of the space to further learn about the wounds that seem to either never heal or heal slowly and how we process this time.
