Balloons

The 1986 Cleveland Balloonfest was intended to be a record-breaking celebration that, instead, became, an environmental disaster. The effects of the 1.5 million balloons released over the city included clogged waterways, littered natural areas, and harmed wildlife. I painted the balloons seen over the giant mineral piles along the river in Tremont.
